Do you know the Difference between PID and FID?

PID analyzer is a photoionization gas detector. It is used to measure the concentration of the ionized particles. Besides that, it is also used to measure the concentration of volatile organic substances. It simply measures the concentration from the sub-parts billions to 10000 parts per million. This equipment generally releases the photons and these photons are absorbed by the ionization chamber. In a PID Analyzer, you get an immediate result, so you can easily and quickly note the readings.

What technology is used by the PID Analyzer?

PID Analyzer uses the Gas chromatography column supplier technology. This technology is generally used for gas separation in this equipment. In all this process one phase remains fixed on the other hand the second phase is a mobile phase, which is a carrier gas. This mobile phase flows over the stationary phase. The compounds with the lower vapor pressure remain stationary for a longer time.

There are two factors on which it depends for how long a compound can be in a stationary phase:

1. The first one is the compound’s vapor pressure

2. And the second one is “what is its solubility in the stationary phase?”
